Chicago’s Pale Horseman Joins QMG

Pale Horseman is a Chicago-based sludge metal outfit. This heavy four-piece have been playing together for the better part of the last 15 years. From 2000-2008, three of the members were in a band called Couldron. There is no doubt these guys bring insurmountable energy and chemistry along with their gritty riffs and hard-hitting drums. Their debut, self-titled release can be found on their Bandcamp and can also be downloaded with the “Name Your Price” feature. The band has physical CDs available for purchase, as well as merchandise.

Behold a pale horse. His rider’s name was Death. And Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth to kill with sword, with famine, with pestilence, and with the beasts of the earth.

(Revelation 6:8)

Roarshark joins QMG

Last July I went to New Orleans, Louisiana to visit family. One night I went to a local bar to see a band play. The band is a three piece haling from NOLA by the name of Roarshark. The three members are Zac Demmond on bass/vocals, Michael Selser on guitar/vocals, and David Schulz on drums. They share a common interest in bands like Primus, King Crimson, Yes, Modest Mouse, Tera Melos, St. Vincent, and Talking Heads. The band has a post-alt sound and are influenced by David Byrne, Les Claypool, Robert Fripp, and Andrew Bird. They’ve been playing together for about two years and have an EP and many, many shows in the NOLA area to show for it. You can download their first five track EP for free. at the Bandcamp link posted below. The band has been hard at work putting together a new album and are always looking for some shows to play in the NOLA area. Remember to stay tuned to QMG for all of your Roarshark news. Check out the Roarshark links after the jump.
